Are you a Sheep or a Goat?

“And all nations shall be gathered before Him. And He shall separate them from one another, as a shepherd divides the sheep from the goats”……Mat 25:32

Are you a Sheep or a Goat?

You identify yourself as either a sheep or a goat by the way you are responding to those hurting around you!

Today is the day for all Christians to come to the forefront of their communities and develop a heartfelt desire to share the good news of Jesus. It is time to make a commitment to take Christ to those who live beyond church walls everyday of the week. Being a Christian is a 24/7 commitment, not just for 1 hour on a Sunday. There is a huge opportunity standing before us right now, in our own towns, villages even in our communities, where we can choose wither to watch or jump in and become a “sheep”. Jesus praised the sheep, those who served out of love, compassion, kindness, in the way they responded to those hurting around them and invited them to sit at his right hand.

So I will ask the question again… Are you a Sheep or a Goat?
Are you doing whatever it takes to reach out to those in your community?

Here are a few steps you could take to reach out and share God’s love in your area:
1. Get a feel for the needs of the people in your town
2. Ask, where in my town will a helping hand, a free bag of shopping, a cold drink, a cup of tea make a difference?
3. Develop a strategy for reaching out to those who do not attend church

And some things you can start with:
1. Find and meet the needs of a single mother
2. Give away some free school supplies
3. Hold free classes for those who need to speak English
4. Offer financial mentoring to those who are struggling
5. Give of your time

As simple as they may sound the key to all of this is Get Started. Start building a road of love and acceptance for all to walk.

And remember this:

So because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. ……Rev 3:16

Be useful in building the kingdom of God. Being hot or cold were equally being useful, while being lukewarm was totally useless, a void of usefulness. So be useful in God’s kingdom. Take the good news to all who are in your area. Success will come when we believe that “ he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world”… 1 John 4:4. Put this truth to the test and you will discover the greatness of Christ that lives in us.

The greatness of light is only seen when it overcomes the dark…….

Make your outreach goals so large that it requires the “Greater Than” promise of power. People probably won’t remember what they have been told regarding God’s love, but they will always remember what they have experienced of God’s Love. God is committed to the lost and I believe that given enough time and commitment in serving the community almost every outreach will work..
