Unchanging Truth

Have you ever loved, liked or even just cared about a girl who didn’t feel the same way about you?

Have you ever been in a relationship that you thought was something special, but turned out to not really mean anything to the other person?

Have you ever had your heart broken?

Have you ever been cheated on?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then you have had a small taste of the kind of relationship woes God has experienced since the earliest days of human race. For reasons we will never be able to understand, God Loves us. We certainly done nothing to deserve his love. In fact we have done just about everything we can to earn his disgust. We have ignored Him, abandoned Him and even turned to other gods (the things we worship by giving them a higher priority in our lives than God).

In relationship terms, we have been unfaithful. Very Unfaithful. Yet God still loves us. In fact, he loves us so much that he sacrificed his own Son so that we can live with him forever after we die. That is what makes our unfaithfulness so offensive. After all God has done for us, after the amazing love he has shown us, we still wander away from whenever something that seems more exciting or more thrilling catches our eye.

How do you think God responds to our unfaithfulness?

Check out the example given to us by Hosea and his adulterous wife in the bible.

 Life Lessons

  1. Sometimes God asks difficult things of his people, but rewards those who choose to be faithful in those moments (Hosea 1:2-3)
  2. God Sees us for exactly who and what we are (Hosea 2:5-8)
  3. God’s love for us is so great that he will pursue us even after we have walked away from him (Hosea 3:1)
