I want to finish well. I do not want to end up burned out, tired out and dead in the water, although this past week this is exactly how I have been feeling.
Paul finished well “In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now” Philippians 1:4-5
Paul carried on doing what God had told him to do and here he is again, happy! He is a happy man…..
Why is Paul happy? Because he knows he is not alone, God is working alongside him, God is working in Paul & all Paul has to do is work with God. What a fantastic partnership, Paul & God. We can have the same partnership, God & you, God & me. Its an unstoppable love. God will not leave us figure it out for ourselves, He will not abandon you or forsake you. God is with us, God is for us, “Christ in you the hope of glory”
God showed us how to work in partnership by demonstrating how the Father, Son & Holy Spirit work together, never alone. This is what makes the work a joy…. Working in partnership. God offers equal employment opportunities to each and every one of us. We cannot do it alone.
You cannot do something that is God’s work when you are isolated and vulnerable, any more than I could cook for 10,000 people by myself. You are going to get tired, you may think you have enough strength, but you will never have the energy for the full harvest. We have to support and release one another to minister, to worship, to build, to sow, to harvest, each one of us doing the good work we were created to do. If we support and release each other, we will not end up exhausted.
Frustration & desperation will set in if we try to do everything on our own, simply because our strength will fail. Release the gifts and talents of those around us so that they can go further than we can. Take great comfort and joy in doing God’s work together.
Do what God has given you to do, do it with joy, do it together, God & you, God & Me, God & You & Me… this is unstoppable love…
I always pray with joy because of your partnership, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.. Philippians 1:4-6
