The Porn Addiction

In light of the Ana Kriegel murder, it was alleged that all sorts of pornography were found on Boy A’s phone.

Porn addiction is a real issue in today’s world and yet not many people are willing to admit that. It is a way of life for many people, young and old, and most do not understand how much of an impact being a porn addict has on their lives. Watching porn changes the way that you view the world and changes the way that you see women for the worse.

In the 1970s, Ted Bundy was one of America’s most brutal serial killers and rapists. He admitted to 30 homicides between 1974 and 1978. The actual count is unknown and may be much higher.

The night before his death, Bundy was interviewed by Dr. James Dobson, the founder of Focus on the Family. In one segment, Bundy told Dr. Dobson about the effect his pornography addiction had on his life.

“Like most other kinds of addiction,” he said, “I would keep looking for more potent, more explicit, more graphic kinds of material. Like an addiction, you keep craving something which is harder, harder, something which gives you a greater sense of excitement. Until you reach the point that pornography only goes so far…”

Bundy added, “I’ve lived in prison a long time now. I’ve met a lot of men who were motivated to commit violence just like me. And without exception, every one of them was deeply involved in pornography. Without question, without exception, deeply influenced and consumed by addiction to pornography.”

Why you should stop watching porn

Porn addiction destroys your sex life….

Countless hours of scientific research suggests that watching porn with a partner does not ignite a more satisfying sex life. Even the smallest time spent viewing porn can cause both men and women to become less interested in their partners looks and performance sexually

Addiction to porn can cause erectile dysfunction….

Erectile dysfunction was rarely heard off in men under 35 before the days of internet porn addiction. And with all the easy access to porn via the web, men are experiencing this problem as early as their teens. Studies have shown that this is caused by lowered pleasure chemicals in the brain alongside the user’s tendency to view porn alone in front of a screen, which results in difficulty being aroused by a real-life partner

Porn is highly addictive….

Just like the other addictions such as alcohol, drugs, sugar, when porn is consumed, their brain is flooded with the feel-good chemical dopamine. After viewing porn frequently, a person’s brain is inundated with dopamine and the brain responds by closing down the dopamine receptors. With less receptors, the brain cannot respond to dopamine in the same way and the person sinks deeper into the addiction.

Porn fuels sex trafficking…

Many young people enter the porn industry on their own free will, yet many more are victims of sex traffickers, recruited by the use of kidnapping, violence or sold into it.

Addiction to porn has a negative effect on your relationships….

The more porn a person views, the more likely they are to associate pleasure with a “fake fantasy”. This makes it hard to become aroused by a real person or be interested in a relationship. Porn causes viewers to alienate from their partners and can led to the risk of psychological problems

Porn can cause psychological problems

Porn is more often that not watched in secret, which can and will leave a porn addict feeling shameful, insecure and lonely. Opening addicts to issues such as anxiety, depression and body image issues

Addiction to porn promotes violence against women….

Women in porn that are being abused are directed to pretend they like it and that they are enjoying it, giving the porn addict unrealistic expectations of what women are looking for in a sexual partner and can lead to unwanted aggression or violence.

And as we have learned from the Ana Kriegel murder, addiction to pornography is dangerous to children and teens

STOP WATCHING PORN

Pornography addiction is not to be taken lightly & you do not have to fight your porn battle alone.

How do you get over porn? If you have struggled with pornography, then you’ve likely already asked yourself that question. You may even understand the mental, emotional and spiritual toll it is taking on your life. You know the stress it puts on your marriage, relationships with family and friends, your job, and every area of your life.

Your desire is to be free of porn’s tightening grip. You have probably even tried a few times to quit viewing it. It is relentless.  You keep going back to your computer, isolated in your private fantasy world, and overwhelmed by the shame of your addiction.

However, you are not the only one caught in this trap.  Millions of people around the world view pornography.

porn like any addiction is not the problem but a symptom .. I’m currently in recovery from sex addiction

  2. Good post. I never knew that about Ted Bundy, I knew about the link between violence and porn. I wonder how many other serial killers were heavily involved with porn too.
