Poverty Doesn’t Just “Go Away”

In the slums of Nairobi, the number of young not being able to feed themselves has been growing for many years. But I’m letting you today to let you know that we have just launched an exciting outreach that is registered with the Kenyan government to tackle this important issue head on and how YOU are making a HUGE difference in the lives of people in need.

We are seeing record numbers in poverty, hunger, and homelessness. What makes my heart ache even more is that a family with children is more likely to not have enough to eat.  But it gets worse! Children experiencing food insecurity from as young as 9 are selling themselves for 150 Kenyan schillings ($1.50) in order to get money for food.  It is the root of a cycle of poverty and lack that doesn’t just “go away”, that needs to be broken

Bad Boy Turned Good is now in the heart of this epidemic, addressing the immediate and long-term needs of hunger. Our main centre of food operations is based in the Mukuru Kwa Njenga slum, run by Benson Musyimi & Trevor Ompondo. It is through this centre that we are distributing food every week to those that come.

None of this would be possible without the faithful support by donors like you!

We are eternally grateful. But as the number of homeless and hungry continues to grow, the need for food continues to grow. So, we urgently need your help! There are countless hungry young girls on the streets, not knowing when they will eat their next meal. When they come and ask us for food, we don’t want to have to turn anyone away!

YOU play such an important role to end their hunger which keeps them in education and off the streets. We couldn’t do any of this without you. Only $10 a month will feed 1 person.

Some reading this email may be able to just help feed one. That is enormously helpful. Every little bit helps. Others may be able to give to feed hundreds. Every gift matters. Every gift makes a difference. Every gift literally saves lives!

No matter how much you can give today, please don’t delay.
