Do not remember against us our former iniquities, let your compassion come speedily to meet us, for we are brought very low. Psalm 79:8

Like the Psalmist who wrote this, we all have been brought very low at some point in our lives. Sooner or later, we all experience some pain in our lives, would you not agree? Being brought low may be down to the choices we have made or the choices others have made.

I believe that verse 8 also gives some hope, no matter what we are going through. I want to encourage you this evening that whatever you are going through, whatever brings us down, we can call out to God. His tender mercies come quickly to meet us in our darkest, most painful days. When these storms of life come, it also brings us closer to God.

Let me finish with verse 18 from psalm 34 and remind you.

“The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
